It's that time of year! We would like to invite you to the Glastonbury Farmers' Market (GFM) for our 2020 season. We are moving into our 8th year and only invite the best of the best, who will sell top quality produce or products grown and made in Connecticut at our market. This market continues to be run by a very dedicated Board of Directors who are looking forward to another very successful season.
The 2020 market will be open Wednesday June 17 thru September 9 (13 weeks) from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. We will remain located at the Riverfront Park at 300 Welles Street next to the Glastonbury Community Center but on the Welles Street side. This site has high visibility with the daily traffic and pedestrian flow, improved parking and is located close to the concert pavilion stand. You will be able to park behind your tent for set up as directed by the on-site Market Master each week.
Once again, we are partnering with the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce who, along with the Town of Glastonbury, organizes the Glastonbury Town Concert Series during the month of July. In addition to the 4 concert nights which brings in a thousand or more spectators each night, we are working with the Glastonbury Town Band folks who will provide up to 4 additional nights of concerts which have generated 100 or more viewers per night, all of which will benefit our venders with greater exposure and selling opportunities.
For the non-concert nights, we are working with the Wednesday night outdoor movie folks as well as with the Glastonbury Recreation’ Department for planning children’s programs, educational demonstrations, entertainment / music, face painting and more as well as weekly food vendors. Set-up time starts at 4:00 pm. Please Note: Due to safety concerns, you must arrive no later than 4:30 to set up or you may not be allowed to vend.
The GFM is also working with other groups and events that may be of interest to you. Included in the 2020 Vendor Profile is a section to simply let us know if you would be interested in getting additional information directly from the sponsoring groups for three events: CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce’s June 6, 2020 Marlborough Day (all vendors); Glastonbury’s Historical Society’s Farm Day in mid-September 2020 (farmers only); Holiday Trolley November 28, 2020 (all vendors).
The 2020 vendor fee is $175 for a full season single space or $225 for a double space. To be a "pop up" vendor is $35 and a double space is $45. All applications must be COMPLETED with all paperwork and checks on or before March 31, 2020. Applications received / completed after March 31, 2020 will incur a late fee of $25.
Please return your completed application & your crop plan(s). If you are not a farmer, you still need to fill out a "Specialty Crop Plan" stating what you'd like to sell at the market. Even if there is not a "Category" listing exactly what you sell, please make sure to write it in. All market vendors will be contacted by email or phone regarding your participation. Please make sure that all required paperwork & fees are included with your application so we can get all necessary agencies the appropriate paperwork.
We are looking forward to an even better season this year! Feel free to email us with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sincerely, The GFM Board of Directors
